The disaster response team leader Damien Woodbury is working in the flood-affected regions in Vietnam and has been meeting with key members of the department of agriculture to coordinate efforts in reaching as many animals as possible.
Damien and his team will be focusing their efforts on delivering food and nutritional supplies to the affected communities as they have been left with no supplies of their own for their animals. Most of the animals affected are cattle, buffalo, pigs and poultry , all vitally important to these communities livelihoods.
They will also be looking at some longer term efforts to help support keeping the animals healthy with procedures such as disinfection and medicines while the reconstruction takes place.
