In the wake of the devastating floods that have affected millions of people and animals across the Balkans, we have urgently contacted local partners to offer support.
With on-the-ground expertise, these organisations are best placed to respond to the needs of animals but we are committed to supporting the rescue effort in any way we can.
The animal death toll is still unknown but it’s likely to be in the thousands after three months of rainfall fell in just three days, causing rivers to burst and triggering fatal landslides.
The terrifying destruction has been compared to that of the country’s 1992-95 war, which we responded to by distributing veterinary medicine and equipment to treat over 2,000 animals.
Organisations like the Animal Welfare Advocate for Bosnia (AWAB) are helping to raise funds to support smaller groups on the ground. Please visit their website to find out how you can support.
